Having worked as a personal tutor in secondary schools with pupils aged 11-18, Ian takes his holistic approach to cricket coaching into mentoring programmes with individuals to support and aid the development of self confidence and self esteem, to aid personal development and success in academic and sporting life.

An agreed programme of 121 sessions, to suite each individual, has proven to be most effective. These sessions aim to challenge existing behaviours and influence change in personal aspirations. By developing a supportive, caring and trusted working relationship, an individualised strategy is agreed and designed with the aim of achieving step by step change with positive outcomes.

Ian was a fantastic mentor to young people aged 15-17 participating in National Citizen Service, having delivered fun and engaging workshops centred around sports leadership and inclusion to over 450 people across Hampshire. Ian was professional and clearly very knowledgeable, the young participants certainly gained and developed skills that can be used later in life. Feedback from the sessions showed that they were enjoyable, well run and highly recommended to others. We look forward to working with Coaching For Greater Understanding in the future.
